Sproule is pleased to support the upcoming SPE-Young Professionals Webinar: Assessing Canadian Heavy Oil and Oil Sands Resources, presented by Jason Robottom, Manager Reserves Certification at Sproule. The online session will be live on Wednesday, September 13 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

The session is geared towards providing an introduction to Canadian heavy oil and oil sands resources and is for anyone interested in understanding the resource and the development strategies for successful exploitation. The presentation will include a Q&A period to spark further discussion.

Abstract

The Canadian heavy oil and oil sands resources play a pivotal role in the global oil supply and the Canadian economy. Presented by Jason Robottom, Manager, Reserves Certification at Sproule, this 45-minute webinar will describe Canada’s heavy oil and bitumen resources and what development strategies are applied for successful exploitation of these important resources. Following the presentation, we will open the lines for a Q&A period.

Presenter

Jason Robottom graduated in 2007 with a B.Sc. Oil and Gas Engineering from the University of Calgary and started his work career by joining Sproule. Jason has worked in the Domestic, Reservoir Studies, and Unconventional groups within the company, gaining extensive knowledge of conventional and unconventional oil and gas plays. Jason has significant experience in the Canadian heavy oil sector.

Jason is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers (SPEE).
